Tampa, Florida – In a harsh verdict for a heinous crime, U.S. District Judge Mary S. Scriven has sentenced Brian Walker (52, Bradenton) to 12 years and 7 months in federal prison, followed by 20 years of supervised release, for attempted coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity and possession of child sexual abuse material.
Walker, a 52-year-old airline employee, pled guilty on March 25, 2025, for his role in attempting to coerce and entice a 12-year-old female into engaging in sexual activity. According to court documents, Walker contacted the minor over a social media application and engaged in sexual conversations with her, whom he believed to be the 12-year-old female.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation took over the minor’s social media account and engaged in undercover chats with Walker, who expressed his desire to meet the minor in person. On June 24, 2024, Walker traveled to meet the minor at the community pool, where he was arrested by law enforcement. A cell phone seizure revealed hundreds of images and videos of minors, including those under the age of 12, engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Courtney Derry. The case marks a significant victory for Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, please visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
Walker’s 12.5-year sentence sends a strong message to would-be predators that child exploitation will not be tolerated in our communities. As we continue to push for justice in these cases, it is crucial that we support organizations and initiatives working tirelessly to protect our children from harm.
