Brandon Michael Gadson, Interstate Travel to Promote Prostitution, Alaska 2013

A Las Vegas man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for his role in a sex trafficking ring in Alaska.

Brandon Michael Gadson, 32, was sentenced on January 18, 2013, by United States District Court Judge Sharon M. Gleason for one count of Interstate Travel to Promote Prostitution.

Gadson traveled to Anchorage, Alaska, in July 2010, with three women, the youngest of whom was 19 years old, and another man. He paid for the hotel rooms for two of the women and used his credit card to post explicit advertisements on the internet.

The Vice Squad of the Anchorage Police Department conducted a sting operation and arrested the three women less than an hour after the operation began. Gadson had approximately $10,000 in his pocket at the time of his arrest, while the three women had only insignificant amounts of cash.

Gadson’s sentence includes three years of supervised release, during which time he is restricted from using the internet without his probation officer’s permission.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel R. Cooper, Jr. noted that Gadson appeared in at least three videos published on YouTube, which lyricized the degradation of women through sex trafficking and promoted the exploitation of women through physical force.

U.S. Attorney Karen L. Loeffler commended the Vice Squad of the Anchorage Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigations’ Innocence Lost Task Force for their work in investigating and prosecuting this case.
