LOGAN COUNTY MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR FEDERAL DRUG CRIME

A Logan County man was sentenced to prison for his role in a federal drug crime. On January 26, 2021, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Cross Lanes, West Virginia, where they found approximately 79 grams of methamphetamine.

Brian Dometric Knox, 37, of Logan, West Virginia, admitted to possessing the methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it. He also admitted to selling approximately 1 ounce of methamphetamine weekly between December 1, 2020, and January 22, 2021.

The investigation was conducted by the Violent Crime and Drug Task Force West, the West Virginia State Police, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). United States Attorney Will Thompson commended the investigative work of these agencies.

Senior United States District Judge John T. Copenhaver, Jr. imposed the sentence. Assistant U.S. Attorney Courtney L. Cremeans prosecuted the case.

Brian Dometric Knox was sentenced to five years and three months in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release. This sentence was imposed on in the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, located in Charleston, West Virginia.
