Brian Hall, Meth Conspiracy, Aurora MO, 2023

SPRINGFIELD, MO – Brian E. Hall, 45, of Aurora, Missouri, is facing a potential life sentence after pleading guilty today to running a large-scale methamphetamine operation in southwest Missouri. The bust, a joint effort by multiple federal and state agencies, uncovered a sophisticated drug ring and a cache of cash and weapons.

Hall admitted to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine between November 1, 2020, and April 28, 2022. Authorities say Hall regularly drove to Arizona and Oklahoma, hauling back 20 to 50 pounds of meth per trip. Two confidential informants facilitated controlled buys: 413 grams for $1,400 on June 16, 2021, and 431.27 grams for $3,500 on June 22, 2021. The operation wasn’t just about drugs; Hall was also laundering money through real estate.

Investigators discovered Hall was purchasing properties – a house and storage units – with cash, paying $10,000 a month. A property owner, aware of the illicit source of the funds, accepted the payments in February and March of 2022, and that money has now been seized by the government. On April 28, 2022, a raid on Hall’s residence yielded a substantial haul: seven pounds of methamphetamine, a stolen Taurus 9mm semi-automatic pistol found under his bed, and approximately $57,000 in cash stashed inside a safe. Hall will forfeit the seized cash.

But the April 28th raid didn’t stop there. Hall, anticipating another large shipment, had arranged to pay a courier with the $57,000. At 10 p.m. that night, a black Toyota Camry arrived at Hall’s home. The driver and passenger were immediately arrested, and officers seized another 22 pounds (10 kilograms) of methamphetamine. The operation demonstrates a clear pattern of large-scale trafficking, with Hall acting as a central hub.

Hall now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison without parole, potentially escalating to life behind bars. The final sentence will be determined by the court, considering advisory sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors. A presentence investigation by the United States Probation Office is underway. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica R. Eatmon is prosecuting the case.

The investigation involved a massive collaborative effort from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the FBI, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Combined Ozark Multi-jurisdictional Enforcement Team (COMET), the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and multiple county sheriff’s departments including Barry, Stone, and Greene Counties. The Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team also played a key role in bringing down Hall’s operation.
