NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – A local man has been hit with a severe blow in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking. Brian Picquet, 38, of Orleans Parish, pleaded guilty on June 24, 2025, before United States District Judge Brandon S. Long to charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl.
Picquet’s actions, which led to his conviction, were uncovered during a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) investigation. On March 14, 2024, and March 22, 2024, Picquet sold fentanyl to an individual he believed to be a legitimate buyer.
The ATF worked tirelessly to build their case against Picquet, leading to his ultimate arrest. Assistant United States Attorney Briana Williams of the Narcotics Unit is handling the prosecution.
According to court documents, if sentenced to the maximum penalty, Picquet faces twenty years imprisonment, a fine of up to $1,000,000.00, and at least three years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment. Additionally, he must pay a mandatory special assessment fee of $100 as to each count.
Sentencing is scheduled for September 30, 2025, and the grimy streets of New Orleans are one step closer to being safer from such dangerous crimes.
