Briceton Grant, Methamphetamine Distribution, Virginia 2021

RICHMOND, Va. – A Fredericksburg man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for distributing high-grade methamphetamine.

Briceton Grant, 36, was named in a four-count criminal indictment that was returned by a Richmond federal grand jury on June 7 and entered a guilty plea on June 21 to one count of distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

According to court documents, between October 19, 2021, and November 10, 2021, Grant distributed or possessed with the intent to distribute approximately 8 pounds—nearly four kilograms—of methamphetamine having purity levels well in excess of 90%. This grade of methamphetamine is referred to as “Ice” or “Crystal Meth” and is often manufactured in super labs outside of the United States.

In addition to the methamphetamine, at the time of his arrest, Grant was also in possession of 90 pills containing fentanyl, three grams of cocaine, and $4,590 in United States currency.

Grant was sentenced by U.S. District Judge David J. Novak. The case was investigated by the FBI Richmond’s Fredericksburg Regional Narcotics Task Force and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Angela Mastandrea-Miller.

The sentencing brings an end to a lengthy investigation by local and federal authorities into Grant’s involvement in the distribution of high-grade methamphetamine in the Fredericksburg area.

The case serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by methamphetamine and the importance of continued efforts to combat its distribution and use in our communities.
