A Bridgeport man has been sentenced to 3 years in prison for his role in a heroin trafficking operation.
Kevin Lucas, also known as ‘Dutch,’ 62, was sentenced to 36 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for trafficking narcotics.
According to court documents and statements made in court, between May and August 2019, law enforcement made a series of controlled purchases of redistribution quantities of heroin from Lucas.
Lucas was arrested on August 22, 2019, and a search of his residence on that date revealed additional distribution quantities of heroin, approximately 139 grams of crack cocaine, approximately 365 grams of cocaine, items used to process and package narcotics, a 9mm handgun, two loaded magazines, ammunition, and $35,220 in cash.
On September 21, 2021, Lucas pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of, heroin.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration New Haven Task Force, including participants from the U.S. Marshals Service, Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation Division, and the New Haven, East Haven, West Haven, Branford, Ansonia, Meriden, Middletown, Naugatuck and Waterbury Police Departments.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Nathaniel J. Gentile.
