Dwayne J. Lynch, Heroin Trafficking, Pennsylvania 2017

Bristol’s Lynch Hit With Life Threatening Drug and Gun Charges

Dwayne J. Lynch, 28, a resident of Bristol, Pennsylvania, was slammed with charges on May 4, 2017, for his alleged intent to distribute heroin, possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Louis D. Lappen.

The accusations, detailed in an Indictment filed on March 21, 2016, assert that Lynch was caught with heroin intended for distribution, alongside a modified Remington model 870 Wingmaster shotgun, cut down from its original 18-inch barrel to just 13 inches. The weapon, bearing serial number S096668V, was found loaded with four live rounds and one spent casing, during and in relation to the drug trafficking.

Lappen emphasized that Lynch’s past felony conviction was no barrier to law enforcement, as he is also charged for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The severe charges against Lynch could lead to a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, with a mandatory 10-year minimum sentence consecutive to any other imposed sentences, along with a $1,500,000 fine.

The case has been a joint effort by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Bristol Borough Police Department, with Assistant United States Attorney Thomas M. Zaleski handling the prosecution.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty, according to court rules. Lynch’s fate is now in the hands of the legal system.
