Jeffrey Reese Fisher, Gratuity Received by a Public Official, Oklahoma 2010

BROKEN ARROW, OKLAHOMA — The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has announced that Jeffrey Reese Fisher, 37, of Broken Arrow, pleaded guilty to charges of Gratuity Received by a Public Official. This stunning admission comes after an extensive investigation conducted by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Inspector General.

Fisher, who served as Chief of Prosthetics at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma, is alleged to have solicited Al’s Medical, a medical supply company dealing with the VA, to cover construction and remodeling costs for his private residence. The act of solicitation took place between April 2009 and March 2010, according to the Information charging him.

The Honorable Kimberly E. West, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted Fisher’s guilty plea. A presentence report has been ordered, with sentencing set to follow upon its completion. The defendant is currently on bond pending this outcome.
