Jacksonville, FL – Henry Obdulio Cordon, a 38-year-old resident of Antioch, CA, has pleaded guilty to producing a photo depicting him sexually abusing a child. The California man faces a minimum sentence of 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison.
Cordon was arrested on May 16, 2019, and has been detained since. His sentencing is set for October 23, 2024.
The investigation into Cordon began in April 2019 when an internet service provider reported child sexual abuse photos to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The photos were traced back to Cordon’s email account, which contained at least five such images.
On May 9, 2019, additional reports linked Cordon to other accounts. One photo showed a young child being sexually abused by an adult male, produced in 2011 on a Blackberry device. Cordon used the same email account between April and May 2019 from his apartment.
During his arrest, Cordon confessed to searching for ‘nude teen pictures’ online and admitted taking the photo of the child. He claimed the abuse occurred only once and that he saved the image to his email account.
The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and multiple law enforcement agencies investigated the case, which is part of Project Safe Childhood, a DOJ initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
