Cameron William Fulston, a 29-year-old Carlsbad man, has been sentenced to 144 months in prison for coordinating the sale of fentanyl that led to the fatal overdose of 25-year-old Carlsbad resident Danielle Good in 2023.
A federal court in San Diego handed down the sentence, which is in line with the plea deal Fulston entered in September 2025. He pleaded guilty to Distribution of a Controlled Substance.
Fulston’s role in the overdose was revealed through a thorough investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Overdose Response Team, which included the San Diego Police Department, the La Mesa Police Department, and the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors argued that Fulston’s actions demonstrated a callous disregard for human life and a willingness to continue distributing deadly substances despite the loss of life.
According to court documents, Fulston arranged for Good to meet him and his co-defendant, Bryan Kim Bullard, a prolific drug dealer, at a Mission Valley apartment. Bullard supplied Good with the fatal fentanyl, while Fulston was sent to a nearby restaurant to pick up food.
Despite signs of a medical emergency, the defendants failed to seek help for over an hour, instead engaging in Facebook video conversations and sending disturbing messages to each other. It wasn’t until over an hour later that Bullard called 911, claiming that Good was experiencing an overdose.
Bullard fled the scene before help arrived, while Fulston returned to the apartment and lied to police about his involvement in the overdose. He eventually admitted that Good had come to the apartment with him, as seen on video surveillance.
Bryan Kim Bullard, the co-defendant in the case, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in July 2025, the statutory maximum sentence, for his role in the overdose.
