Canadian Man Faces 15 Years for Transporting Child Porn

A Canadian man has been found guilty of transporting child pornography in a US court.

Kevin Rockwell, 31, of Leduc, Alberta, Canada, was charged with the crime in May 2013 and was extradited to the US in May 2014.

According to court records, in April 2013, Rockwell sent an email message to the undercover email account of a federal agent in Maine, attaching a file containing 38 images of sexually explicit conduct involving young children.

The images were sent from Canada and the investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Rockwell faces a sentence of between five years and 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He also faces a term of supervised release of between 5 years and life.

“This conviction highlights our commitment to protecting children from exploitation and abuse,” said U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II. “We will continue to work with our international partners to bring those who commit these heinous crimes to justice.”
