Caraun Lynn-Montez Key and Michael Coy Wollard, Drug Trafficking, West Virginia 2015

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A pair of individuals have been sentenced in federal court for their roles in a West Virginia drug trafficking ring.

Caraun Lynn-Montez Key, 23, of Detroit, Michigan, and Michael Coy Wollard, 29, of Fairmont, West Virginia, were each sentenced following an investigation by the Mon Valley Drug Task Force and the Three Rivers Drug Task Force.

Michael Coy Wollard was discovered in possession of a medication containing pseudoephedrine, an ingredient commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine, in Taylor County, West Virginia in September 2014. He pled guilty in January 2015 to one count of Possession of Pseudoephedrine to be used in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine, following the investigation. He will receive credit for time served since October 2014 and was sentenced to 41 months in prison.

Caraun Lynn-Montez Key was discovered in possession of a significant quantity of oxycodone in Monongalia County, West Virginia in September 2014. He pled guilty in January 2015 to one count of Aiding and Abetting the Possession with Intent to Distribute Oxycodone, following the investigation. He will receive credit for time served since September 2014 and was sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley prosecuted the cases on behalf of the government.

The cases were presided over by U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley.

Key and Wollard’s sentencing marks a significant blow to the state’s ongoing battle against drug trafficking. The Mon Valley Drug Task Force and the Three Rivers Drug Task Force will continue to work tirelessly to bring those responsible for these crimes to justice.
