Defendant Sentenced to 162 Months in Prison for Methamphetamine Conspiracy
A 47-year-old Omaha man has been sentenced to 162 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine conspiracy, announced United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods.
Ricky Allen Kane was sentenced on February 5, 2026, in federal court in Omaha for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of actual methamphetamine. Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. handed down the sentence.
Kane’s sentence includes a 162-month term of imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. Following his release from prison, Kane will begin a 5-year term of supervised release.
The investigation into Kane’s activities began in 2022 with the death of a man from a fentanyl overdose. Investigators discovered a suspected source of fentanyl supply in the Omaha area and executed a search warrant on November 14, 2022, on the residence of Michele Waters, Kane’s co-defendant.
Law enforcement seized two baggies containing a total of 97 grams of actual methamphetamine during the search. The larger quantity, 86 grams, was found between the armrest and seat of a chair in the living room. Numerous items of drug paraphernalia were also seized, including scales and baggies.
Michele Waters, Kane’s co-defendant, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of actual methamphetamine. She was sentenced to 180 months in prison on October 17, 2024.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration. This is a significant blow to the methamphetamine trade in the Omaha area, and our office is committed to holding accountable those who engage in this destructive behavior.
