Violet Jean Littlelight, 23, and Shyanna Jo Whitewolf, 21, were involved in a carjacking that turned deadly in a South Side Billings neighborhood on May 16, 2025. The two women, along with a third conspirator, Brian Contreraz, lured an acquaintance of Littlelight’s to South Park in Billings to rob him and steal his pickup truck. The plan ended with the driver’s death. Littlelight and Whitewolf pleaded guilty in March 2026 to one count of carjacking that resulted in death.
The government alleged that Littlelight, Whitewolf, and Contreraz made plans to steal the truck and exchange it for drugs or money. They used Littlelight’s acquaintance, 51-year-old Keith Breckenridge, to get the truck. When Breckenridge arrived at the meeting spot, he grew suspicious but eventually let the three into his truck after Littlelight vouched for them.
Once they had control of the truck, Contreraz told Breckenridge to drive to an alleyway behind Adams Street on Billings’s South Side. It was there that the situation turned deadly. Littlelight was sentenced to 24 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, while Whitewolf received a 20-year prison sentence, also followed by five years of supervised release.
U.S. District Judge Susan P. Watters presided over the sentencing. The case highlights the dangers of carjacking and the severe consequences that can result from such crimes. The sentences handed down to Littlelight and Whitewolf reflect the seriousness of their actions and the harm caused to the victim and his family.
