ST. GEORGE, Utah – Darrell Glenn DeVoge, 50, of Cedar City, was handed a 72-month sentence after his guilty plea for the audacious C-A-L Ranch store heist in November 2023.
DeVoge is the final piece of the puzzle to be locked away as part of the trio responsible for the smash-and-grab at the Cedar City firearms retailer. His codefendants, Russell Wesley Gruber, 31, and DeVoge’s son Parker Darrell DeVoge, 21, both residents of Cedar City, have already been sentenced.
Ringleader Gruber received a 72-month term on July 9, 2025, while Parker DeVoge was sentenced to 16 months’ imprisonment and three years’ supervised release on April 22, 2025. The trio was ordered to pay $2,406.11 in restitution to the C-A-L Ranch.
The night of November 21, 2023, the trio made their move. Armed with guns from prior thefts, they broke into the C-A-L Ranch store, smashing display cases and making off with 75 firearms. The next morning, they struck again before the store opened. Their loot included rifles, shotguns, revolvers, pistols, ammunition, red dot sights, and accessories.
Acting U.S. Attorney Felice John Viti announced the sentencing, which followed a joint investigation by the ATF and Cedar City Police Department. Assistant United States Attorneys Christopher Burton and Brady Wilson prosecuted the case as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence.
