Centralia Man Sentenced to 9 Years in Prison for Selling Meth
A Centralia man has been sentenced to 9 years in federal prison for selling methamphetamine in Clay County. Bobby J. Bryan, 52, was sentenced to 108 months in prison after pleading guilty to distributing and conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.
According to the indictment, Bryan knowingly distributed methamphetamine in Clay County on two occasions in July 2017 and conspired to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine beginning as early as 2015.
The investigation in this case was conducted by the Flora Police Department, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, and the Illinois State Police Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force.
The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Steven D. Weinhoeft, announced the sentencing, praising the efforts of the law enforcement agencies involved in the case. “Bryan’s actions caused significant harm to our community, and I am pleased that he will be held accountable for his crimes,” Weinhoeft said.
The sentencing of Bryan is a major blow to methamphetamine traffickers in the region. Methamphetamine is a highly addictive and destructive substance that has devastating effects on individuals and communities.
