Cesar Augusto Perez Charged with Illegal Reentry in Pennsylvania

Cesar Augusto Perez, a/k/a ‘Erick Alberto Perez,’ 41, of Philadelphia, PA, has been charged with illegal reentry after deportation, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger.

According to the indictment, Perez, an alien and native and citizen of Guatemala, was found in the United States after having been deported from the United States on or about July 9, 1999 and April 6, 2006.

The indictment alleges that on or about March 26, 2015, Perez was in the United States after being deported, making him a candidate for the serious charge of illegal reentry.

The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (‘ERO’), and is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Jordan Strauss.

The maximum possible sentence Perez faces if convicted is ten years. If found guilty, the defendant will face a lengthy prison term.

An Indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Perez’s case is a stark reminder of the gravity of immigration crimes and the consequences they carry.
