Chad C. Newcome Admits to Carjacking, Weapons Charge, West Virginia 2021

In a shocking turn of events, Chad C. Newcome, a 40-year-old resident of Rock Cave, West Virginia, has pleaded guilty to carjacking and firearms charges in federal court.

Newcome admitted to attempting to steal a 2018 Dodge Ram Truck on March 10, 2021, in Upshur County. He used a 12-gauge shotgun during the carjacking, leaving authorities stunned by the brazen nature of the crime.

Under the federal sentencing guidelines, Newcome faces up to 15 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $250,000 for the carjacking charge. Additionally, he is liable for at least seven years of incarceration and a fine of up to $250,000 for the use of a firearm charge.
