A 41-year-old New York woman, Changa Bush, is facing serious time after being charged with possession of credit card manufacturing equipment in Florida.

Bush, who was arrested on September 6, 2019, is accused of possessing equipment that could be used to manufacture fraudulent credit cards.

According to the indictment, Bush is currently on parole for the crime of assault causing serious physical injury in New York State.

U.S. Attorney Maria Chapa Lopez announced the return of an indictment charging Bush with the crime, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in federal prison if she is convicted.

The case was investigated by the United States Secret Service and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, and will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin C. Frein.

Bush has been detained pending trial, which is set for November 4, 2019.

Bush’s alleged crime is just the latest example of the growing threat of credit card scams and identity theft.

An indictment is merely a formal charge, and every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
