Nashua Man Pleads Guilty to Fentanyl Trafficking

CONCORD – Charles Daye, 28, of Nashua, pleaded guilty in federal court on Tuesday to possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute and distribution of fentanyl, United States Attorney Scott W. Murray announced today.

Fentanyl Trafficking is a serious crime that has been devastating communities across the country. In this case, Daye was found to be distributing fentanyl in Nashua. The evidence against him included fentanyl and cash found on his person, as well as evidence located on his cellphone and his admissions.

On October 23, 2019, Nashua police officers located fentanyl and cash on Daye’s person during a traffic stop. Subsequently, on December 17, 2019, and January 16, 2020, a cooperating individual working with law enforcement officers made controlled purchases of fentanyl from Daye.

“Fentanyl traffickers are damaging public health and safety by peddling a deadly substance,” said U.S. Attorney Murray. “Through Operation SOS, we are working with the Nashua Police Department and all our law enforcement partners in Hillsborough County to identify and prosecute the drug dealers who are endangering lives by selling fentanyl and other dangerous drugs.”

This matter was investigated by the Nashua Police Department, and the case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Joachim H. Barth. This case is part of Operation Synthetic Opioid Surge (S.O.S.), which is being implemented in the District of New Hampshire and nine other federal districts to combat the large number of overdoses and deaths associated with fentanyl and other synthetic opioids.
