Douglas Ray Lollis Jr, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Oklahoma 2024

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – In a resounding defeat for the illegal gun trade, Douglas Ray Lollis, Jr., 33, of Checotah, Oklahoma, was handed a 40-month sentence for Felon in Possession of Firearm. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced the verdict, which stems from an ATF-led investigation.

Lollis faced federal charges following a trial on March 4, 2025, where he was found guilty by a jury. On December 22, 2022, investigators uncovered Lollis pawning a 9x19mm pistol—a weapon he possessed in defiance of prior convictions that rendered him ineligible to own firearms.

The case is a cornerstone of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a multi-layered law enforcement initiative aimed at curbing violent crime and gun violence. The program, strengthened on May 26, 2021, emphasizes community engagement, strategic enforcement, and violence prevention efforts.

Judge Ronald A. White presided over the sentencing hearing in the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Lollis is set to begin serving his non-paroleable sentence at a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility on August 4, 2025.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan E. Soverly, Patrick M. Flanigan, and Edith Singer represented the United States in the case. The ATF’s relentless pursuit of illegal firearms has once again proven effective, ensuring a safer community for all.
