MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Douglas Ray Lollis, Jr., 33, of Checotah, Oklahoma, is headed to federal prison for 40 months after a jury found him guilty of illegally possessing a firearm. The sentence was handed down by Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White, marking the culmination of a case built by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
The case unfolded after investigators discovered Lollis pawned a 9x19mm pistol on December 22, 2022. The problem? Lollis was already prohibited from owning any firearms due to a prior felony conviction – a conviction for a crime carrying a potential sentence exceeding one year.
