A Chicago gangster allegedly fired three shots from a handgun in front of a city building while proudly proclaiming his affiliation with a violent street gang. The brazen display of firepower, captured on video, led to the indictment of Alexander Martinez-Quiroz, 35, on federal firearm charges.
Martinez-Quiroz, a convicted felon, was prohibited from possessing firearms, yet he allegedly kept a rifle and handgun from December 2025 to April 2026, according to an indictment returned in U.S. District Court in Chicago.
Video evidence, presented in court, shows Martinez-Quiroz firing the shots on December 18, 2025, while standing in front of the Chicago building. He recorded the incident and even called out his affiliation with the gang.
Martinez-Quiroz was arrested on April 9, 2026, but initially released on bond. However, a U.S. District Court judge later reversed the decision, and he remains in federal custody pending trial.
