Jonathan Lovato, a 41-year-old Pena Blanca man, was arrested on April 9, 2026, for allegedly punching and strangling a minor in his care. The incident occurred at Lovato’s residence, where he held down and punched the minor with a closed fist several times before strangling them, causing them to pass out. The minor escaped and went to a family member’s home, who immediately called law enforcement. Lovato, an enrolled member of the Pueblo of Santo Domingo, was taken into custody at his residence.
