Jamie T. Felde, a 47-year-old Missoula man, pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography after a lengthy investigation uncovered a stash of over 23,000 images and 600 videos of child sex abuse materials in his apartment. The case began when the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received tips about an individual uploading child porn to Microsoft’s Bing Image between 2021 and 2023. Law enforcement officers obtained subpoenas and search warrants, leading them to Felde’s Missoula apartment, where they served a search warrant on May 23, 2024.
A forensic analysis of the devices found in Felde’s apartment revealed the massive collection of child sex abuse materials, which included 23,716 images and 643 videos. Felde’s guilty plea is a result of the work done by Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Felde faces a significant sentence, with a possible 5-20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and a lifetime of supervised release. He will also have to pay special assessments totaling $35,100. U.S. District Judge William W. Mercer will determine the sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors, with sentencing set for October 8, 2026.
