Christopher Jackson, a 27-year-old from Elyria, Ohio, has been sentenced to 15.5 years in federal prison for his role in the receipt, distribution, and possession of child pornography. The sentence comes after Jackson pleaded guilty in March to the charges, which included receipt and distribution of visual depictions of real minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and possession of child pornography. The investigation, led by the FBI Cleveland Division and the Elyria Police Department, uncovered approximately 955 images and 371 videos of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) on Jackson’s electronic devices and online accounts.
The probe into Jackson’s activities began when agents identified him as an individual downloading child pornography on social media platforms. A subsequent forensic analysis of his devices and accounts revealed that he had been possessing and viewing CSAM for over 17 years. The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Jackson’s sentence includes 15 years of supervised release after imprisonment, and restitution will be determined at a later date. The prosecution was led by Assistant United States Attorney Margaret Kane for the Northern District of Ohio.
The sentence serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
