A massive methamphetamine trafficking operation in Alabama has been brought to a close with the sentencing of Christian Ikenya Amir Lewis to 87 months imprisonment. On January 22, 2020, officers with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force stopped a vehicle being driven by Lewis on Interstate 65 in Baldwin County.
Pursuant to further investigation, a canine gave a positive alert on the vehicle Lewis was driving. Inside the trunk of the vehicle, officers found almost ten pounds of pure methamphetamine in a hidden compartment in a large speaker box.
The crime dates back to January 22, 2020, when Lewis’s vehicle was stopped by law enforcement. The methamphetamine, weighing nearly ten pounds, was hidden in a speaker box in the trunk.
Christian Ikenya Amir Lewis, 87 months imprisonment, a sentence handed down by United States District Court Judge Jeffrey U. Beaverstock on June 17, 2024, for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 4 kilograms of methamphetamine.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys George F. May and John P. Hutchins III.
