Christian James Gieseke, Child Pornography, Texas 2023

Christian James Gieseke, a 39-year-old man from Garland, Texas, has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for producing and possessing child pornography. Gieseke was also ordered to serve 10 years of supervised release after his prison term.

According to court documents, Gieseke pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography just days before the start of his trial last summer. In his guilty plea, Gieseke admitted to using a camera to produce images of two minor girls, Jane Doe 3 and Jane Doe 4, engaging in sexually explicit conduct while they were naked in the shower.

Gieseke also admitted to downloading and viewing the images on his laptop computer, knowing that the girls were minors. Additionally, he admitted to attempting to produce images and/or video of two other minor girls.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorney’s Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and identify and rescue victims.

The Garland Police Department and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Lisa J. Miller and Leigha Simonton prosecuted the case.

U.S. Attorney Sarah R. Saldaña of the Northern District of Texas made the announcement, stating that Gieseke’s sentence is a significant consequence for his heinous crimes.

Gieseke’s sentence serves as a reminder that child sexual exploitation and abuse will be taken seriously and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We will continue to work tirelessly to combat this epidemic and bring perpetrators to justice.

The case was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jane J. Boyle.
