A 38-year-old Indianapolis man stands accused of preying on the youngest and most vulnerable members of our society, allegedly producing and possessing thousands of sickening images of child pornography.
Christopher A. Abraham, a resident of Indianapolis, was charged with sexually exploiting four children under the age of seven, according to a complaint unsealed last week. The alleged abuse dates back to January 2, 2017, when detectives from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received information about Abraham’s disturbing collection of child pornography.
Law enforcement officials obtained search warrants for computers, external drives, and other electronic devices at Abraham’s residence on the Eastside of Indianapolis, where they uncovered a staggering trove of images depicting the sexual exploitation of children.
But what’s even more shocking is that investigators found evidence that Abraham produced some of the images himself, using children he had contact with. The victims, ranging in age from two to seven years old, were allegedly exploited by Abraham, who is accused of capturing their images for his own twisted gratification.
The case was investigated by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Indiana State Police, and the Indiana Crimes Against Children Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Kristina Korobov is prosecuting the case for the government.
If convicted of all charges, Abraham faces a maximum sentence of 140 years imprisonment. He had his initial appearance earlier this week and remains in the custody of the United States Marshal’s Service.
A complaint is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in federal court.
Protecting children from predators like Abraham is a top priority for U.S. Attorney Josh J. Minkler, who vowed to hold child abusers accountable for their heinous crimes.
