St. Louis Man’s 30-Year Sentence for Meth and Gun Crimes Sends Chilling Message to Dealers
Christopher Glen Rhodes, 47, a seasoned meth supplier from St. Louis, Missouri, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for his involvement in a string of high-stakes drug trafficking and gun crimes. The harsh verdict is a stark reminder to those involved in the underworld of the consequences of their actions.
According to evidence presented in court, Rhodes was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The charges were a culmination of a lengthy investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Prosecutors revealed that Rhodes had been selling methamphetamine, a highly addictive and potent substance, to his co-defendant, Demetrius A. Ransom, for nearly 25 years. The duo’s operation was brought to an end in December 2022, when investigators executed a court-approved search of Rhodes’ home in the 4900 block of West Florissant Avenue. The search yielded a staggering haul of 2.7 kilograms of meth, 3.8 kilos of fentanyl, 981.8 grams of cocaine, and 129.7 grams of cocaine base.
The discovery also led to the seizure of $21,000 in cash, a loaded 9mm Ruger handgun, and various drug paraphernalia. The arsenal of illicit substances and firearms is a testament to Rhodes’ brazen disregard for the law. His actions put countless lives at risk, including those of law enforcement officers who were forced to confront him.
As a convicted felon, Rhodes was already barred from possessing a firearm. However, he continued to flaunt the law, demonstrating a staggering lack of remorse for his actions. His sentence is a fitting consequence for his crimes, and serves as a warning to others who engage in similar behavior.
Rhodes’ co-defendant, Demetrius A. Ransom, 46, of St. Louis County, was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. The swift and decisive action taken by the court sends a clear message that the authorities will not tolerate such egregious behavior.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of drug trafficking on communities. It is a testament to the bravery and dedication of law enforcement officers who work tirelessly to bring these crimes to justice.
