Lendell Wallace, Tramadol Trafficking, Louisiana 2022

Lendell Wallace, a 38-year-old resident of LaPlace, Louisiana, has been charged with violating the Federal Controlled Substances Act.

On October 13, 2022, Wallace pleaded guilty to a two-count indictment in U.S. District Court. He was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute tramadol and possession with intent to distribute tramadol, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 846, 841(a)(1), and 841(b)(1)(E).

According to court documents, 800 dosage units of tramadol were seized from Wallace’s residence pursuant to a search warrant. The investigation revealed that Wallace had tramadol mailed to his home from Singapore on multiple occasions. He then distributed and conspired with others to distribute the tramadol.

The case was investigated by the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, United States Postal Inspection Service, and United States Customs and Border Protection. Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Benjamin Myers is handling the prosecution.

The maximum punishment Wallace faces for each offense is five years imprisonment, a fine of up to $250,000, at least one year of supervised release following any term of imprisonment, and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee.

Wallace is scheduled to be sentenced on January 19, 2023. With his guilty plea, Wallace has acknowledged his involvement in the tramadol trafficking ring. The sentence will be determined by the court based on the severity of the offense and Wallace’s prior record.
