Christopher Lee Talamantes, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Minnesota 2011

In a shocking turn of events, a Rochester man has been sentenced to 210 months in prison for his role in a massive methamphetamine trafficking operation.

Christopher Lee Talamantes, a 45-year-old resident of Rochester Minnesota, was found guilty of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it.

According to court documents, Talamantes was indicted on July 10, 2012, and pleaded guilty on December 11, 2012. His plea agreement revealed a disturbing pattern of behavior, including the seizure of $1,900 and 600 grams of methamphetamine on September 15, 2011, during the execution of a search warrant at his apartment.

In addition to the methamphetamine seized at his apartment, officers also discovered 2.6 grams of methamphetamine and $13,748 during the execution of a search warrant at his residence on July 28, 2011.

The investigation into Talamantes’ activities was a collaborative effort between the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Julie E. Allyn prosecuted the case, bringing Talamantes to justice for his crimes.

The sentencing of Talamantes serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of methamphetamine and the importance of law enforcement’s efforts to combat the trafficking of this deadly substance.
