Muskogee, Oklahoma – A Vian man has been sentenced to 51 months in prison for maintaining a drug involved premises, U.S. Attorney’s Office officials announced.
The defendant, Clifford Perkins Jr., 43, of Vian, Oklahoma, was sentenced by the Honorable James H. Payne, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The charge arose from an investigation by the Sallisaw Police Department, District 27 District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The indictment alleged that from on or about August 1, 2012, until he was indicted, Perkins Jr. knowingly and intentionally maintained a place at 307 Dennis Street, Vian, Oklahoma, for the purpose of distributing, manufacturing, and using methamphetamine, a Schedule II Controlled Substance.
Perkins Jr. was indicted in August 2013 and pled guilty in March 2013. He will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending transportation to the designated federal prison at which he will serve his nonparolable sentence.
Assistant United States Attorney Dean Burris represented the United States in the case.
