Hector Rodriguez-Ramos, a 48-year-old Mexican national living in Donna, Texas, has been sentenced to 72 months in federal prison for conspiring to distribute multiple loads of cocaine. In 2024, Rodriguez-Ramos recruited a drug courier and had a hidden compartment installed in the courier’s vehicle at a car shop associated with the conspiracy. The vehicle was later found to contain 14 kilograms of cocaine, leading to the uncovering of the conspiracy.
Rodriguez-Ramos pleaded guilty to the conspiracy on December 30, 2025, and was ordered to serve his sentence by U.S. District Judge David S. Morales. As a non-U.S. citizen, Rodriguez-Ramos is expected to face removal proceedings after completing his prison term.
The investigation, conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, revealed that Rodriguez-Ramos coordinated multiple drug deliveries and even completed a drug run himself. He was also in communication with other members of the conspiracy during the events.
Rodriguez-Ramos has been and will remain in custody pending transfer to a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Tyler Foster and Yasmine Tucker.
