Cole Brewer, a 30-year-old man from Pine Ridge, South Dakota, has been sentenced for stealing a fuel truck worth thousands of dollars. The crime occurred in June 2020, when Brewer stole a Freightliner fuel truck from Hay Springs, Nebraska, and transported it across state lines to Pine Ridge, where it was discovered by law enforcement.

On February 11, 2022, Brewer was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken for Interstate Transportation of a Stolen Vehicle. Brewer was sentenced to time served, which is approximately nine months in custody, and three years of supervised release. Additionally, he was ordered to pay a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.
