WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA – In a stunning reversal of fortune for drug kingpin Geiontay Marshant Hoskins, 27, of Columbus, Ohio, the federal bench has delivered its verdict. Today, Hoskins, also known as ‘G’ and ‘Cuddy,’ was handed a 121-month sentence for his brazen methamphetamine trafficking operations within a stone’s throw of Wheeling’s Overbrook Playground.
Court documents and statements in court revealed that Hoskins had been operating under the radar, selling potent doses of crystal meth near the children’s游乐 haven. The feds struck hard during a raid on Hoskins’ seedy motel room in Elm Grove, uncovering 150 grams of meth and 56 grams of fentanyl, not to mention nearly $5,000 in cash and the key to his hideout.
A traffic stop on Hoskins’ vehicle was just the cherry on top, turning up the crucial evidence that led law enforcement straight to his lair. The U.S. attorney’s office was represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Carly Nogay, who gave Hoskins a taste of his own medicine in court.
This case was a collaborative effort of epic proportions, with the Ohio Valley Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, leading the charge. Supporting agencies included the West Virginia State Police, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wheeling Police Department. Together, they made sure justice was served in this drug-infested city.
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the sentencing hearing, his stern face a testament to the gravity of Hoskins’ crime. For the residents of Overbrook Playground and beyond, this sentence is a victory against the relentless tide of methamphetamine in their community.
