Randy Lee Donahue Jr, Methamphetamine Distribution, West Virginia 2018

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA – In a grim revelation from the federal criminal landscape of West Virginia, Randy Lee Donahue Jr., 37, of Wheeling, has copped to charges of methamphetamine distribution. According to United States Attorney Bill Powell, the defendant has admitted to aiding and abetting the possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Donahue’s transgression took place at a notorious address: an apartment on 97 16th Street in Wheeling. The crime was committed within a perilously close proximity of Wheeling Central Catholic High School, in November 2018. The brazenness of Donahue’s actions did not go unnoticed by law enforcement.

The sentence that awaits Donahue is no trivial matter, with potential incarceration spanning a minimum of one year and reaching up to forty years. A monetary penalty of up to $2,000,000 looms as well. The severity of the offenses and any prior criminal history will ultimately determine his fate under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen L. Vogrin is leading the prosecution against Donahue. The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the West Virginia State Police; and the Ohio Valley Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, which is funded through HIDTA.

The case has been presided over by Senior U.S. District Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr., ensuring that justice is served with a steady hand.
