Boston – In a stunning blow to the city’s criminal underworld, Glenroy Miller, alias ‘Trinny,’ has been sentenced to 71 months in prison for a multifaceted scheme that included trafficking firearms, defrauding a federal credit union of over $130,000, and orchestrating a large-scale mail theft operation.
The 29-year-old gang member from Mission Hill faced a federal judge after pleading guilty to charges including being a felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a machinegun, trafficking in firearms, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and conspiracy to steal and possess stolen mail.
Miller’s criminal career dates back to September 2019 when he was convicted in Suffolk Superior Court for possession of a firearm without a permit, carrying a firearm with ammunition, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, and resisting arrest. His previous sentence included three years in prison followed by two years’ probation.
In December 2019, while on state probation, Miller joined forces with Nadaje Hendrix to orchestrate a credit union fraud scheme. The duo obtained loans in the names of other individuals, including fellow inmates, and under stolen identities, amassing nearly $134,000 in fraudulent debt. Both were indicted by a federal grand jury in January 2024.
Miller continued his criminal activities upon release from state prison, conspiring with other gang members to steal checks and engage in “card cracking.” His actions between June 2023 and February 2024 caused an estimated $250,000 to $550,000 in losses. In August 2024, he was indicted along with eight others for their roles in the card cracking scheme.
Miller also faced charges for selling six firearms to a cooperating witness while on state probation. One of the transactions included a firearm with a high-capacity magazine equipped with a machinegun conversion device. Miller was fully aware that the witness was a convicted felon prohibited from purchasing or possessing firearms.
The investigation and subsequent sentencing were led by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley, along with federal agents from the FBI, ATF, USPS Inspection Service, and U.S. Secret Service. The Boston and Wellesley Police Departments provided valuable assistance in bringing Miller to justice.
