Washington, D.C. – In a shocking move, the 7th Congress has ended its first post-war fiscal year with a spending record that will leave economists and politicians alike scratching their heads. The appropriations cut of approximately 60 percent from last year’s wartime financial allotments is the biggest peacetime slash in history.
