A former suburban Chicago police officer has been sentenced to more than five years in federal prison for conspiring to steal cash and drugs from occupants of vehicles during traffic stops. Antoine Larry, 50, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, was serving as a patrol officer for the Phoenix, Ill. Police Department when he conspired with another officer to corruptly solicit cash and drugs from motorists. The criminal conspiracy began in at least 2020 and continued until 2022, with Larry and his partner selecting victims based on circumstances arising from the stops.
Larry and his partner, Jarrett Snowden, would solicit cash bribes in exchange for reduced charges, not towing the car, or letting the individual go without citations. They would then falsify police reports to conceal their corruption. A jury in U.S. District Court in Chicago convicted Larry on conspiracy, extortion, and attempted extortion charges earlier this year.
On June 8, 2026, U.S. District Judge John F. Kness sentenced Larry to five years and three months in federal prison. Snowden pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge prior to trial and admitted his role in the scheme, with his sentencing set for October 27, 2026.
The case was announced by Andrew S. Boutros, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, and Douglas S. DePodesta, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago Field Office of the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ramon Villalpando argued that Larry’s actions undermined public confidence in law enforcement as an institution.
