Juan Pablo Garcia, Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine and Cocaine, Illinois 2026

⏱ 2 min read

Two Galesburg, Illinois men, Juan Pablo Garcia and Edgar Calderon, were involved in a large-scale methamphetamine and cocaine trafficking operation that brought kilograms of drugs from Texas to their hometown. Beginning in the spring of 2024, the duo conspired to distribute the drugs, with law enforcement conducting multiple controlled buys from them. The operation was busted after a traffic stop in Nacogdoches County, Texas, where approximately 9.8 kilograms of methamphetamine and 3 kilograms of cocaine were seized.

Garcia, aka ‘Chewy’, and Calderon, aka ‘Lil Man’, were sentenced on June 15, 2026, with Garcia receiving 40 years of imprisonment and Calderon receiving 27.5 years. The sentences were handed down after the court found that firearms were possessed during the conspiracy and that both men tampered with witnesses.

The court noted that the operation was a large-scale enterprise responsible for trafficking considerable amounts of narcotics in the relatively small community of Galesburg. The judge conveyed the devastation that methamphetamine causes in communities and the positive impact that removing large-scale drug traffickers can have.

The sentencing hearing was held before U.S. District Judge Sara Darrow, who also found that Garcia created a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury when he fled from officers in his vehicle after they attempted to arrest him in relation to these charges.
