Pensacola, Florida – Grimy Times
A 38-year-old Ocala man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for armed drug trafficking. Corderrius Terrelle McShane, who was convicted of distributing more than 40 grams of fentanyl, was handed down the sentence by U.S. District Court Judge.
McShane was arrested in November 2024 after a traffic stop revealed over 230 grams of fentanyl and a loaded firearm in his possession. This is not his first run-in with the law – McShane has prior felony convictions for possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon, resisting law enforcement with violence, possession of cocaine, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The investigation was a joint effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica S. Etherton prosecuted the case.
U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin praised the work of law enforcement, stating that McShane’s sentence is ‘a reflection of the incredible threat this violent drug trafficker posed to our community.’ Heekin also noted that the case is part of the nationwide initiative Operation Take Back America, which aims to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, eliminate cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect communities from violent crime and human trafficking.
McShane’s crimes have left a devastating impact on the community. According to court documents, he sold approximately 55 grams of fentanyl in November 2024. The sale of this deadly substance has led to the loss of lives and the destruction of families.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida is committed to keeping the community safe and free from the scourge of drug trafficking. This case is a testament to their dedication and the efforts of law enforcement to bring violent criminals to justice.
