Corpus Christi Gang Member Jailed in Child Porn Case

Corpus Christi, Texas — A 31-year-old local gang associate has been slammed with a 300-month federal prison sentence after admitting he orchestrated the sexual exploitation of an 11-year-old girl. Jesus Villalobos, a documented member of the Texas Syndicate prison gang, pleaded guilty on September 27, 2016, to production of child pornography, marking the end of a predatory digital campaign that crossed state lines and exploited a child’s vulnerability.

Senior U.S. District Judge Hayden Head handed down the sentence with scathing clarity, citing Villalobos’s violent criminal history and dangerous propensity for reoffending. Prosecutors presented evidence that Villalobos used text messages and a social media application to manipulate the minor into sending sexually explicit photographs. An agent from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) testified that digital forensics revealed Villalobos arranged to meet the child and even traveled to a park near her home in preparation for the encounter.

The investigation began in February 2016 when authorities intercepted communications between Villalobos and the young victim. By April, law enforcement executed a search warrant at his residence, seizing multiple electronic devices. Forensic analysis uncovered several sexually explicit images of the child, cementing the federal charges. The evidence painted a calculated predator who used technology to groom and exploit a prepubescent girl.

Judge Head emphasized the severity of the crime and the defendant’s gang affiliation, noting that ties to the Texas Syndicate underscored a pattern of organized criminal behavior. The court also ordered Villalobos to pay $10,000 in restitution to the victim, a symbolic but critical acknowledgment of the lifelong trauma inflicted. He will serve 25 years of supervised release upon completion of his prison term, during which he will be banned from unsupervised contact with minors and restricted from unmonitored Internet use.

Villalobos will remain in federal custody pending designation to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility. His name will be added to the national sex offender registry, ensuring public access to his criminal history and location. The case was investigated by HSI with support from the Corpus Christi Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a critical alliance in tracking down digital predators.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Hugo R. Martinez prosecuted the case as part of Project Safe Childhood, a Justice Department initiative launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation. The program leverages federal, state, and local partnerships to dismantle networks of abuse, rescue victims, and impose severe consequences on offenders like Villalobos. Authorities warn the public to remain vigilant as predators increasingly exploit social media platforms to target children.
