MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Cody Michael DeGraw, 30, of Coweta, Oklahoma, has admitted to a sickening crime: possessing material depicting the sexual exploitation of children. DeGraw entered a guilty plea to one count of Possession of Certain Material Involving the Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a charge that carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years behind bars and a hefty $250,000.00 fine.
Federal prosecutors detailed in court that the alleged offenses occurred between December 20, 2023, and February 27, 2025. The indictment alleges DeGraw knowingly possessed these disturbing visual depictions, actively accessing them with the intent to view the abuse of vulnerable children. This wasn’t accidental exposure; it was deliberate engagement with horrific content.
The investigation that brought DeGraw to justice was spearheaded by the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), demonstrating a focused effort to root out these predators. HSI agents meticulously built the case, uncovering the evidence that led to the indictment and, ultimately, DeGraw’s guilty plea. The details of how the material came to light have not been released.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson accepted the plea and has ordered a thorough presentence investigation report to be prepared. This report will delve into DeGraw’s background, criminal history, and other relevant factors to aid the U.S. District Court Judge in determining an appropriate sentence. Don’t expect leniency.
Following the plea hearing, DeGraw was immediately taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals. He will remain in federal custody pending sentencing, ensuring he poses no further threat while awaiting his fate. The Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and report on the sentencing as soon as it is announced.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Morgan Muzljakovich and Sarah McAmis skillfully prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States, fighting to hold DeGraw accountable for his depraved actions. This conviction sends a clear message: those who exploit children will be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice, no matter where they hide. The Eastern District of Oklahoma will not tolerate this filth.
