Crow Agency Man Jailed for Stabbing
A Crow Agency man will spend 27 months behind bars for stabbing another man on the Crow Indian Reservation, the Grimy Times has learned.
Dee Bad Bear, 60, was sentenced to prison on [Undisclosed Date] for the brutal attack, which left his victim hospitalized with injuries.
According to court documents, the assault occurred on April 17, 2020, at a Lodge Grass residence. Bad Bear and his victim, identified as John Doe, were drinking and talking when the attack happened.
Bad Bear allegedly slashed Doe with a knife after he returned from the bathroom. Doe was taken to a hospital in Billings for treatment, where a knife matching his description was discovered.
Bad Bear was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. He pleaded guilty to the crime on March 12 and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Susan P. Watters.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeanne Torske prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Bad Bear will serve three years of supervised release after completing his prison term. The case serves as a reminder of the dangers of violence and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
