Zimarie Bryant, Marijuana Trafficking, District of Columbia 2025

WASHINGTON – The gritty streets of Washington D.C. are no stranger to harsh sentences, and today’s sentencing only underscores this reality. Zimarie Bryant, 20, better known by his rap alias ‘Cruddy Marie,’ was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for marijuana trafficking and illegal possession of a machine gun.

Bryant pleaded guilty on March 13, 2025, to one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and one count of unlawful possession of a machine gun. The judge also ordered Bryant to serve three years of supervised release following his release from prison.

The feds’ investigation began when FBI agents executed a federal arrest warrant at an apartment on Jay Street, NE, in August 2023. After what seemed like an eternity waiting for entry, the agents secured a search warrant and recovered numerous firearms, including a 9mm Glock 45 converted into a fully automatic machine gun.

Agents also seized about 12 pounds of marijuana, ammunition, and a firearm magazine. Bryant’s Instagram messages from the scene confirmed his presence, as he posted, “I was just locked up and got picked up by the FBI.”

Bryant was arrested again on May 30, 2024, with law enforcement recovering a disassembled Glock 19, two magazines, a scale, and additional rounds. Despite initially denying the presence of a machine gun, he admitted to having a Glock 19.

With a history of illegal firearm possession, Bryant’s sentencing is a stark reminder of the serious consequences for those who traffic drugs and wield illegal firearms on our streets. The investigation was led by the FBI Washington Field Office, DEA, and MPD, while Assistant U.S. Attorney Solomon Eppel prosecuted the case.
