Quincy Lamar Poole, 24, of Dallas, Texas, has admitted to transporting and shipping child pornography. The crime took place in Dallas County.

In a guilty plea to a single count of transporting and shipping child pornography, Poole faces a statutory penalty of not less than five or more than 20 years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine, and up to a lifetime of supervised release. Poole is currently in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced on December 18, 2013, by U.S. District Judge Barbara M. G. Lynn.

According to court documents, FBI special agents executed a search warrant at Poole’s home in Lancaster, Texas, on July 16, 2013. During the search, a laptop computer, a thumb drive, and Poole’s cell phone were seized. Email transmissions revealed that Poole had sent two emails with a video of child pornography attached to each. In addition, five videos and one image of child pornography were located on his cell phone.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project is led by U.S. Attorney’s Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, which marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children and identify and rescue victims.

The matter is being investigated by the FBI, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Camille Sparks handling the prosecution. Poole’s guilty plea serves as a reminder of the severity of this crime and the importance of protecting our children from exploitation.

The investigation and prosecution of child pornography cases are a top priority for law enforcement agencies nationwide. Poole’s sentence will be a significant blow to those who would seek to exploit and harm innocent children.
