Dallas Man Pleads Guilty to Meth Distribution Charge
A 28-year-old Dallas man has been convicted of distributing methamphetamine in Oklahoma. Jacob Thomas Decker, age 28, of Dallas, Texas, entered a guilty plea to Possession With Intent To Distribute Methamphetamine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(C), punishable by not more than 20 years imprisonment, a fine up to $1,000,000.00, or both.
The indictment alleges that on or about January 16, 2019, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Decker knowingly and intentionally possessed with intent to distribute a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Durant Police Department, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The Honorable Kimberly E. West, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.
Assistant United States Attorney Rob Wallace represented the United States in the case.
Decker’s guilty plea marks a significant blow to the methamphetamine trade in the Eastern District of Oklahoma. The conviction serves as a reminder of the severe consequences faced by those who engage in illicit drug distribution.
