Damieon Lamont Ray, 28, Sentenced to 36 Months in Prison for Distributing Fentanyl in West Virginia
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – Damieon Lamont Ray, of Middle River, Maryland, was sentenced today to 36 months incarceration for distributing fentanyl, United States Attorney William Ihlenfeld announced.
On June 2020, Ray admitted to distributing fentanyl in Hampshire County. He pleaded guilty in May 2022 to one count of ‘Aiding and Abetting Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.’
Ray’s sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
The Potomac Highlands Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated the case against Ray.
Ray’s guilty plea and subsequent sentence bring an end to a case that exposed the dangers of fentanyl distribution in our community. Damieon Lamont Ray’s actions put the lives of many at risk, and his sentence will serve as a reminder of the consequences of these actions.
This case was investigated by the Potomac Highlands Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
